Others : A New Casino under Construction

The plan to transform part of the old Tesco site in Great Yarmouth into a casino complex has begun. It is estimated to cost £2millions and to create more than 70 jobs. The casino of almost 17,000 sq ft is expected to attract about 1,000 visitors per week to the town. It is planned to open in October and to see the town's existing two operators launch with 20 jackpot gaming machines, 14 gaming tables, a poker room, two bars and a five-star restaurant among its facilities.

The owner of the casino, the multi millionaire Patrick Duffy, hopes his project will place him in the first position to win the most important casino license from the town. But he has to wait until the parliament agrees to it.
