Spokespersons for World Trade Organization, announced that the US laws against online gambling are in fact breaking international trade agreements. This decision was taken after they analyzed a claim made by two Caribbean Islands that enjoyed some benefits to their economies by hosting the online casino industry in their midst.
Moreover, the US government was given a year to revise the laws until now. It seems that U.S. not only didn’t respect the term, but also has taken even more strict measures against the online casino industry making it completely illegal. The arrests and charges laid against some online casino operators passing through the US were well publicized. These events put online gambling companies in the situation to shut down US citizen access to online betting.
The Caribbean Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, continue their just struggle and is possible they may not remain alone in their fight. The Democratic Party seems ready to join in to revoke the anti internet gambling law, with the senate leading the way.
