Roulette is a highly popular game with a long history and with fans all over the world, being played in land based and online casinos everywhere. I don’t know if you actually realized until now, but the roulette wheel is an international symbol for gambling.
The game of roulette is simple and entertaining, preferred by both serious gamblers and one-time casino visitors. Now, the reasons why both categories choose to play roulette are a bit different. One time casino visitors come to have fun with the hope of great winnings. So, all they need to do is place a bet, spin the wheel and then wait the result. No skill involved, it was a fun and entertaining night and maybe they even got luck and made some bucks.
Serious gamblers are also doing this for fun with the hope of great winnings, but they actually prefer to not only rely on simple luck. For this, they have a serious knowledge on the roulette game and the roulette betting rules.
Now, if you intend to improve your chances at roulette, you should also try to understand these roulette bets and maybe further you will even create a roulette betting system for you.
The various bets that you can make when playing roulette are split in two main types: inside bets and outside bets.
Inside Bets
Straight number bet – making this wager you choose to bet only on one number. This roulette table bet pays 35:1 and the chances of wining the straight number bet are 37:1
Split bets – it is a bet made on two adjacent numbers on the roulette table layout. The payoff for this bet is 17:1.
Street bets – this is a bet made on three neighboring numbers. The chances of winning the street bet are of 8,1% and the odds for this bet are 11:1.
Corner bets – it is a bet made on four numbers that form a square on the table layout (20, 21, 23 and 24). The odds for the corner bet are 8:1.
Sixline bets or Line Bets – making this wager you choose to bet on two streets (2 rows of 3 numbers). This bet pays 5:1.
Outside Bets
Even money bets – include such bets as Black/Red, High/Low, Even/Odd and I believe their names entail on what you bet when you choose them. For example, if you bet on black, you bet that the winning number will be black. The payoff for these bets is 1:1 and they are one of the best roulette bets you can choose.
Column bets – you wager on a column of 12 numbers. The table layout holds 3 columns of numbers displayed vertically on the layout. If any of the 12 numbers show up you are paid 2:1.
Group bets – all the 36 numbers of the roulette wheel are divided in three groups. Choosing the group bet you wager that a number contained in one of these groups will show up.
Good luck spinning the wheel!
