Keno is a game that you either love or hate. It has two versions: live, and video, but the game is not too popular among casinos. Even if a casino has the game it is somewhat isolated; away from the rest of the games.
The keno game works in the same way whether if it is live or video. The game resembles lotto, the only difference being the better odds, but the lower payouts. The casino has a great advantage in this game, but you can still easily make thousand of dollars from just some bucks.
The game has 80 numbers, numbered from 1 to 80. In the live version of the game the balls resemble the lotto ones, and in the video version the RNG (Random Number Generator) picks the keno numbers.
Twenty numbers are then selected; numbers which are located on the Keno board. The board contains two sections, on the top section the numbers from 1 to 40 are located, and in the lower section the numbers from 41 to 80.
You must mark the ticket and the amount of marked numbers influences the payout. You can mark from 1 to 20 numbers. If you choose more numbers you will have less chances of winning, but if you would win, you would win more money.
For example if you mark three numbers it is called a 3-spot. If one of your marked numbers is selected, then that number is caught. If you manage to catch all the numbers you have marked then you win the maximum payout for that ticket.
Now if you would have caught all the three numbers you would win the maximum payout for a 3-spot. The payouts differ from casino to casino and it is important to find out the ones that pay the best.
Some casinos pay different for spots too; for example they might pay great for 6 spots but poorly for 3 spots. If you like playing 3-spots then you should change the casino.
Most of the casinos will pay if you hit some numbers. For example if you play a 7-spot and you hit 4 numbers, they will pay a refund. If you hit 5 numbers they will pay more, if you hit 6 numbers even more and so on.
The situation is different at the 2-spot, where you must both numbers or you won't get paid. Many people that play live keno, put multiple tickets and then they do something else while they wait for the outcome.
