Have you ever asked yourself what is the gambling philosophy, when did it all started and why? Well, for your knowledge, playing is as old as the humanity itself. The ability of playing is a natural feature of humans. Many say that is a fundamental condition of our existence, which sustains the social change and progress. If you don't believe me, just read Johan Huizinga, who refers to us, humans, as Homo Ludens, and not as Homo Sapiens. Nice, isn't it?
Anyway, considering what I mentioned above, it's clear that playing is very relaxing for us, or at least it should be! It's true that, when gambling, many players experience stress, tension and different pressures, which normally or naturally shouldn't be linked with gambling. Why?
For example, let's analyze the stress level while playing craps in a casino. I observed that many gamblers feel stressed when they play, although they don't have many money at risk. This is because of the fear of failure. Meaning that if other players at the table continue to win, gathering a lot of money, and you don't, then you often feel that you have failed. Failure is an awful concept created by our contemporary society. True gambling experts don't know what failure means, being able to learn from their mistakes and simply enjoying the game.
Craps professionals always look at craps as a learning experience, even though they lose. So, to you, craps should also be a learning experience. You can always gain knowledge of something from each game that you play. Some gamblers have a small notebook with them, noting down their thoughts every time they play. Their stress level is low, because they look at playing craps as a learning process, as an awesome experience, not as a gambling session. Doing so, they are able to adapt and improve their own gambling techniques, increasing their odds of winning.
Just carry a notebook with you when you gamble and note down your impressions of the way you play, and the way other gamblers at your table play. The next time you have a losing session, don't become disappointed, just ask yourself the next 5 questions:

- What do I actually feel?
- Why did I gamble this way?
- What can I change and how?
- What did I learn from this gambling session?
- How will I play in my next session?
