Roulette (the French word meaning "small wheel") is one of the most well-known social casino games. The objective of the roulette game is to choose the winning number on which will stop the ball after rolling on the wheel.
There are two renowned versions of the game: American Roulette and European Roulette (also known as French Roulette/British Roulette.) The difference between the two wheels is made by the zero added to the American Roulette wheel. During the game a croupier rolls the wheel in one direction and then rolls a ball in the opposed way around a skewed circular surface positioned around the limits of the wheel. Depending on the version of roulette, the ball has to fall into one of 37 or 38 pockets on the wheel. All roulettes projected by Dal Negro have wheels settled on ball lining. and are made of solid sapelli mahogany.
For some people it may seem complicated to play roulette. In fact, playing roulette is very simple and requires little time to be learned. Maybe that’s why this game is so rampantly played today. Moreover, the roulette wheel is recognized as the symbol of the casino. The elegant and aristocratic image of roulette is illustrated very well by James Bond in the 007 movies. It created a real craze. Many people play frequently the number 17 at roulette because it was played in the movies.
The pockets are numbered from 1 to 36, but they are settled randomly around the wheel on red and black backgrounds. For numbers zero and double zero the pockets are green.
Roulette holds a range of 'inside' bets (the ball lands on a number) and 'outside' bets (the ball lands on various positional groupings of pockets) available for players. The payout for each type of bet is established in relation with its probability. Usually there are posted, separately for inside and outside, rules for minimum and maximum bets.
In order to enjoy playing roulette learn the basics and estimate your chances to win.
