Table Games : More comprehensive and detailed rules for 2007 WSOP

It is clear that the new 2007 World Series of Poker, the Mecca of poker community, was and it's going to be a key moment for the gambling market. Why? Well, it's almost rhetorical. Considering the fact that the event will attract a huge number of poker lovers and gamblers from all around the world, the organizational aspect must be impeccable.

So, Harrah's has a big responsibility, especially this year when the company has to surpass all the problematic features of the 2006 Series, like the unclear advertising guidelines which disturbed the event. Therefore Harrah's already established and announced the new 2007 World Series of Poker rules, trying to make them as eligible and comprehensive as possible. The new rules of the 2007 event contain detailed logo restrictions for players and an explicit interdiction on third-party registrations from gaming webs which accept U.S. gamblers.

Harrah's sustains that it has not permitted third-party registrations from Internet poker rooms that accept U.S. real-money gambling for the last two years. However last year's regulations made no mention of it and many sources profited from this aspect and promoted different Internet poker rooms.

Now, the new rules state that third-party registrations are only permitted when submitted by WSOP sponsors or by land-based entities officially licensed to perform satellite tournaments.

However, players can use cash for registration or cashier's check drawn from accredited banks and made out to registrants or the Rio. Also, they can use Rio gaming chips, including a new $10,000 WSOP branded Rio casino chip. Considering the actual context, implementing these rules, may be very hard.

WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack said that if a gambler shows up with $10,000 and wants to sign up for the tournament, they have to allow him to gamble. Why? Because it's almost impossible to know where his register money came from. Just because somebody is wearing a dot-net or dot-com shirt doesn't mean they are eligible for the online tournament. It's clear that people wear poker linked outfits for more than one reason.

Therefore, players can wear ads promoting dot-net sites, as long as the dot-net portion of the logo is the same size as the rest of the site name.

Also, gamblers can show off multiple logos, but all logos must be no bigger than 12 square inches. These size restrictions will eliminate, or at least will change the design of Full Tilt sport shirts worn by the experts who support the site, and the Poker Stars jackets, worn by online qualifiers back in 2006.
