Calgary Catholic Schools Question the Funding from Gambling

In Calgary, Alberta after the CBC News: "The persons in charge with the Calgary Catholic School District are going to debate in the near future, the problem of raising funds through betting, because this practice has been labeled by the city's bishop as morally problematic."

"Bishop Fred Henry has sent a letter destined for the board last December underlining his concerns regarding the issue of raising funds through gambling. Cathie Williams, the chair of the board trustees, declared that she is praying for a compromise on this issue that doesn't sacrifice one principle for the other."

"Trustees have debated with school councils on this issue the last month. While there are some supporters of the bishop's request, Williams says that many more are worried what the lack in funding will do for certain programs"
