Children Neglected In Favor Of Poker

Terrence Davis, a 36-year-old father of two boys, ages 3 and 7 in Jacksonville, Fla was detained after leaving his boys in the his while he played poker

The boys where left alone in the car parked outside St.Johns Greyhound Park with the motor running. A witness saw the children left alone and called the St. Johns County Sheriff Office. The older boy told officers that his dad went to play poker at the race track.

They searched for him and indeed he was found in the poker room. Davis told police that he doesn’t understand their worry because he only played four or five hands. Boy’s dad was detained and charged with two accounts of child neglect with a bond of $2,000. The boys were picked up by their mom soon after the police called her.

Northeast Florida greyhound track’s spokesman said that an incident of this kind never occurred up until now, but for sure after this the track will make security changes in order to avoid similar incidents. Also, Terrence Davis will be banned from their three gambling establishments.
