Compensation Cases Against U.S

By Arthur Levine, Jul 13th 2007
Seven compensation cases have been filled against the U.S in the WTO gambling case. Antigua and Barbuda, the EU, India, Costa Rica, Canada, Macau and Australia are the countries that demand compensations from the U.S because it excluded online gambling from its GATS (General Agreement of Trade in Services) schedule.

Japan was interested in the case but has yet to claim any compensation yet. It is unknown how the problem will be resolved. Antigua and Barbuda has demanded $3.44M. Costa Rica hasn't yet offered specifics of their demands.

The WTO ruled in March that U.S can't allow domestic companies to offer horse racing wagers and lotteries over the Internet unless they offer to companies from other countries the same possibility.
