Crown Casino may be fined
By Arthur Levine, May 17th 2007The Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation is on the case, and they try to decide if the casino has broken the Victorian's gaming laws, by making some "adjustments" to the blackjack game.
The rules say that a player would lose 50 cents after every $100 played. According to the casino’s rule, a player would lose 70 cents, which is a 40% increase. Many professional card players did not agree with this change of the rules and refused to play at the Mahogany Room and other premium gaming rooms, where the rule was applied.
Professional players can play the game in other places, but the amateurs had to suffer, because Crown Casino was the only casino in Melbourne. After they changed the rules, they didn’t update them on their website, and by this they have broken the law.
