First electronic table games in Pennsylvania
By Arthur Levine, May 8th 2007The first electronic table games will be introduced in Philadelphia Park Casino, which is the first casino to open in the Philadelphia area. The games are displayed on a 42-inch plasma screen, and they feature a dealer that deals electronic cards in front of each player’s seat.
The game is called "Royal Match 21" and the benefit of this game is that a player’s bet doesn't influence the other players' hands. The players place their bets against the dealer not against each other.
The President and Chief Operating Officer of Philadelphia Park Casino, Dave Jonas, said that the approval of these electronic games consolidates the cooperation within their industry. They are steadily becoming a full service gaming and entertainment venue and they will be able to compete against Atlantic City or Las Vegas.
Tomorrow 11 blackjack games will be installed in Philadelphia Park Casino and each game will have 5 seats for "Royal Match 21". In May, the customers will be allowed to play the games, and also in May, the Kentucky Derby and the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather fight will be broadcasted in the casino. The racetrack will also host live racing during that day.
The Vice President of Marketing for the casino, Darlene Monzo, said that these games increase the friendship between the players and that they bring a new excitement. He said that he hopes that the casino will manage to add electronic games to Roulette, Three Card Poker and Let it Ride too.
This month Philadelphia Park Casino filed an application to Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in which they requested to increase its casino floor by 12,000 square feet. They want to bring another 326 slot machines and if they do so they will have 2,402 slot machines. They also want to add more bars and lounge spaces to meet the customers' demand.
