Gambling to be Debt Free?

By Daniel Michaels, May 20th 2005
Representative Mike Boland of Moline wants the Governor to add a new lottery offering called Club Keno or Quick Draw Lotto.

Players would pick a set of number and try to match them to computer-selected numbers and the game can be played every five minutes.

Boland says adding Keno revenues to the budget mix could bring as much as 130 million dollars to the state each year.

Representative Mike Boland, (D) Illinois 71st District said, "It also brings a new source of revenue for many small businesses that already are in the lottery system and many others that would like to join it like bowling alleys and lounges that currently aren't in it."

Ten states, including Missouri, already have successful Keno games in their lottery line-up.
