Online Netherland Casino in an Evaluation Period

The Dutch Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner has been trying to obtain agreement for a trial basis on online casino gambling. The Netherlands Parliament is seriously considering this new idea and the Minister is encouraging and stating that the online casino trail application would only concern the state-owned Holland Casino.

In the first stages of the Ministers there can be noted that the Lower House Parliament gave its support to a very practical two year trail period license for the online casino and gaming industry. The main idea is to offer a selection for the tryout license only to one particular Dutch casino, the state owned Holland casino ensuring it's monopoly to be the only gambling organization that is to be recognized and legally allowed to function by the government.

It is assumed that a total number of 300,000 people are playing on online casinos and gaming sites due to the fact that the government could have a real chance of gaining some extra revenue by directing the gamblers towards one online casino. The Dutch people are famous due to their mentality that being lenient on controversial issues, in the hope that legalizing something takes away half its appeal.

In this perspective, the Dutch Minister, argues that if the trial period will have a larger number of online casino gamblers, the specific trial would be labeled as unsuccessful. And the new online casino site is going to be opened to all the persons, excluding the age group of 18-23 by installing a weekly Euro 100.

The gambling from other European countries declare that the Dutch monopoly does not take into consideration the European free trade agreement. However, the Dutch government does not approve of that, and like most of the governments is trying to give a closer attention to their own countries interests.
