WPT Championship Tourney Brings Together Important Players

The World Poker Tour Championship each time brings together more and more players. Here is the amazing story of the latest poker hero to come along. The one who is making waves in the poker world is Anna Wroblewski. She won a Five-Star Poker preliminary game where she transformed a $300 satellite into $337,000.

The girl of 21 years tried her luck further at the Bellagio, bluffing and betting to the overall one-day-championship-tournament. She busted Jeff Madsen with only one ace-high.

In the race of capturing the WPT title her 211,000 chips are slightly better than Sam Farha's, which has only 1000 chips less.

The WPT important event always attracts many stars due to the Vegas venue and the massive prize pool. More than 600 players paid $25,000 a piece to sustain the $3.9 million big prize. Among the players remained in competition are Jamie Gold, the reigning WSOP Main Event Champion, Joe Hachem, Carlos Mortensen, Scotty Nguyen, Dan Harrington, Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Tom McEvoy and Doyle Brunson. Also, in the main event final table are Paul Wasicka, Allen Cunningham, Fred Goldberg, and Erik Fridberg.

Other big players that participate in this tournament are: Joe Bartholdi, the 2006 WPT Champion and WPT champions Daniel Negreanu, Gavin Smith, Freddy Deeb, J.C Tran, Barry Greenstein, Gus Hansen, Hoyt Corkins and Erik Lindgren.

With such well-known players and an attractive big pot, the tournament will for sure be one of the greatest poker events of the year.
