Caribbean 21 is actually a variation of Blackjack. So, if you know Blackjack, it will be very simple to play Caribbean 21. In this game your objective is to come as close to 21 without surpassing it. First of all, the player must place a bet. Once the wager is made, the player is dealt 2 cards face up. The dealer is also dealt two cards. If the total value of the player's cards is closer to 21 than the dealer, the player wins as much as he gambled. In addition, the player wins if the dealer goes over 21.

Card Values

Suits of the cards have no value in the game.
Caribbean 21 is dealt from an infinite deck of cards.
Cards 2 through 10 are the face value.
Jacks, Queens and Kings are all valued at 10.
Aces can count as only 1.

Caribbean 21 Rules

All cards are valued as in Blackjack, except an Ace is always 1 point.
The Player shall receive 2 cards face up and the Dealer 1 card face up. The Dealer does not take a hole card.
The Player may Hit, Stand, Double, Split, or Surrender. The Hit and Stand option are the same as in usual Blackjack.
The Player may Double at any time with 2 or more cards. This includes redoubling and doubling after a Split.
Splitting is permitted on any 2 cards. Aces have no special restrictions as in Blackjack and have the same Splitting rules as other cards. After the Player Splits, each single card hand in turn shall instantly obtain a supplementary card. The Player is allowed to Split only once to 2 hands.
The Player may Surrender at any time. If the Player Surrenders he forfeits half of his total wager at that time. Surrender is allowed after Splitting on a hand by hand basis.
An Ace and two 10-point cards is called a Caribbean 21 and is ranked higher than all other 21 point hands, including after Splitting.
The Dealer wins all ties.
A winning Player bet shall pay even money, except for a Caribbean 21 which pays 3-2 on the initial hand only.

Player's Options

Bet: to place a bet, the Player must click on the Chip value that they wish to wager.
Deal: press Deal to begin the game after a wager has been placed. The Player gets two cards face up and the Dealer gets one card face up.
Hit: when the Player requests another card to be dealt. The Player may take a hit at any time before Standing.
Stand: the Player desires to maintain the hand dealt. The game will automatically Stand when the Player has 21 or after Doubling Down.
Split: if the Player's first two cards are of the same value (like 7, 7, or Q, K) they may be split into 2 separate hands by placing a second wager of equal value to the initial bet. The Player may have up to 2 hands at one time. The Player then proceeds to draw cards as usual.
Double: when a Player has been dealt the first two cards and supposes that the 3rd card will give them the opportunity to beat the Dealer's hand, they can Double Down. The bet is doubled, and one supplementary card is dealt to the Player. The hand automatically Stands, and the Dealer then completes its hand comparing it to the Players' total.
Caribbean 21: an Ace and two 10-point cards is called a "Caribbean 21" and is ranked higher than all other 21 point hands, including after Splitting.
Bust: is achieved when the total value of cards for either the Dealer or the Player surpasses 21. If the Player busts the wager is lost, if the Dealer busts the Player automatically wins the wager.
Tie: is achieved when the Dealer's total equals the Players total. The Dealer wins all Ties in Caribbean 21.
Insurance: gives you an opportunity to protect yourself when you think that the Dealer might have Caribbean 21. If the Dealer's first card is an Ace, and the Player believes the Dealer's hole card (face down) value is 10, the Player may buy Insurance against Dealer Caribbean 21 at the price of half their initial bet. If the Dealer does have Caribbean 21, the Insurance pays 9 to 1, matching the amount of the initial bet. If the Player has taken Insurance and the Dealer does not have Caribbean 21, the Player loses his Insurance. The Player's initial bet is then established by comparing his cards with the Dealer's. If the Dealer and the Player both have Caribbean 21, the game results in a Tie with the Player profiting by the amount won by taking Insurance, also called Even Money.
Late Insurance: Late Insurance allows the Player to delay the placement of an Insurance bet until the end of the Player's turn. Once a Player hits Surrender, the Player will receive 50% of his current wager and 50% will go to the House.
