Arizona Group Demands for Higher Salaries

Petitioners stood near a 20-foot-long banner that said 'Shame on Desert Diamond Casino, Labor Dispute.'
"On Wednesday and Thursday, the group members passed out fliers, lash out the Desert Diamond Casino, the Tohono O'odham Nation, Kitchell Construction and Universal Wallboard Corp. for paying
'substandard' wages and pressed for better health-care and pension benefits for construction workers.
"…The union plans to stay at the job site until contractors and the tribe agree to demands, said Phil Evans, a union representative…"
