Bette Midler signs deal with Caesars Palace
By Daniel Michaels, May 25th 2007It has been officially announced today that Bette Midler is heading for Las Vegas. Starting February 2008 she will be the new resident artist at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The deal has been signed with AEG Live, the famous entertainment promoter. She said that she hopes Las Vegas will be prepared for her, because she will bring everything she's got and will be tackier than ever. For her this will be the biggest show she has ever done.
The show will feature lots of girls, gags and laughs and of course her unmistakable joie de vivre. Her famous "Kiss My Brass" section will not be missing from the show, which she said will be divine.
John Meglen, Co-CEO and President of AEG Live/Concerts West, said that AEG Live is very happy to work with her and that they know that the show will be very exciting, both for Bette and for the fans.
Caesars Palace has offered its guests only top shows for more than 40 years, hosted by the most famous performers and musicians. Gary Selesner, the Caesars Palace President, is also very excitied that Bette will work with them for the next two years.
He said that Caesars Palace has delighted its guests with the biggest stars in the world, like Celine Dion and Elton John, and now another will be performing on their stage.
Bette Midler will perform five nights a week from 7:30 p.m., which means she will perform approximately one hundred shows a year. People can call 1-877-7BETTEM (723-8836) to reserve the tickets, or they can go online at Ticketmaster.com.
