Casino Plans in UK Scaled Down

Gordon Brown decided to stop the plans for building a super casino in Manchester, ruining Labour’s plans for revolutionizing the gambling industry. There were concerns raised regarding a perceived increase in gambling addiction and crime.

James Purnell the Secretary in the Department for Culture asked the councils that voted for licenses for smaller casinos if they still wanted them and only four of the sixteen councils declared they would continue to support them.
