Charity Group launched by NPL

The organizations announced that each 2007 NPL World Open venue will host a Charity Poker Tour. The Paris Open which will take place in May 13-22 will be the first of the Open’s to host The Charity Poker Tour.
The expected prize pool for this event is of $3.5 million euros plus 125,000 euros added money. The tournament is expected to have the highest attendance in Europe. All the players competing will be invited to enjoy an exclusive VIP Charity Gala.
The open will take place at Cercle Gaillon hotel casino and it will be hosted in six 1-hour episodes, which will be aired world wide. The charity tours will be featured on all TV markets.
The NPL Charity Group wants to give back to the community, and it has hosted these tournaments together with local associations and organizations who want to do the same.
Annie Van Bebber, Founder of Fundraisers.com has been tracking the effect of such tournaments and she believes that poker can change the situation. She said that the popularity of poker will raise the awareness for the charities and for their causes.
Louis Vuitton, Dior, TF1 TV Group, UUU, SBM, Patron Spirits and Le Queenie, the club hosting the gala party, Le Queenie, Hotel California-Paris, Bluff magazine, Bluff Europe, and PokerNews.com, are the rest of the sponsors besides NPL and Fundraisers.com.
A Live auction will be held at the VIP Charity Gala with auctioneer M. Frederic Chambre from Pierre Berge to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The items for this auction are: a one of a kind poker chip set from Louis Vuitton (LVMH group), a one of a kind Dior Watch engraved and sponsored from Cercle Gaillon, a package for the Grand Prix de Monaco cards from UUU concierge service, a unique crystal bottle of Tequila sponsored from Patron, a weekend package in Monte Carlo at L'Hotel de Paris+ dinner for 2 sponsored from SBM and a package for the NPL UK open in London in August sponsored by the NPL.
