By Joni Hawk, Jun 6th 2006Cagayan Economic Zone Authority through its Master Licensor, First Cagayan is the latest independent online gambling body to accept the global integrity and operational standards of eCOGRA. Cagayan Economic Zone Authority is an Asian e-gaming operator based in Philippines.
After a First Cagayan team lead by the corporate legal counsel Katrina Nepomuceno studied the standards and outcomes-based testing methods used by eCOGRA in awarding the "Play It Safe", the First Cagayan President Albee Benitez signed after several months the acceptance.
Mr. Benitez declared that they are contented that the values set by eCOGRA, and the inspection and monitoring systems that support these, expansively cover our necessities for safe, ethical and efficient online gambling operations,"
Mr. Benitez also added "First Cagayan provides a competitive licensing program, cost-effective regulatory structure and disciplined operator and player protection policies, in a gaming jurisdiction that is secure and trustworthy."
The signing of the agreement comes after the Malta regulator Lotteries and Gaming Authority signed a similar acceptance of eCogra standards last month and after an agreement signed last year by the Kahnawake jurisdiction in Canada, covering hundreds of licensed brands.
Seventy-six leading online casino and poker room brands, belonging to some of the most well reputable and flourishing online gambling groups in the industry now carry the eCOGRA "Play It Safe" seal, which helps gamblers recognize Internet gambling venues that have voluntarily committed to independent, player protective regulation and continuous monitoring.
At the moment, eCOGRA is in negotiations with a few other national regulators dedicated to player protection and fair gaming and hopes to bring to a close further agreement shortly.
