Grand National Delayed for Royal Wedding
By Joni Hawk, Apr 5th 2006In the UK the Guardian reports that the Grand National horse race was delayed by 25 minutes in order to avoid a conflict with the Royal wedding and also this way to allow BBC to wrap both events in full.
"The corporation is to offer live coverage of both events on BBC1 as part of a compromise schedule hurriedly drawn up to make room for the wedding in Windsor which was delayed from Friday to Saturday because of the Pope's funeral.
