Intralot Wants To Offer Text Message Betting

An international gambling giant intends to revolutionize the gaming industry in Australia and catch the attention of young people to gambling on a '24/7 basis by offering betting on computerized games such as backgammon, checkers and chess via mobile phone along with lotteries in which entrants buy tickets via a text message.

"The Greek-based company, Intralot has also flagged a range of games allowing players to bet against each other via mobile phone or the Internet.

The company comments: “Since in the world today are used more than one billion mobile phones and the number of internet access and use is continually increasing, there is no doubt that customers will seek new forms of gambling so, convincing them to make the switch to mobile gambling is 'highly achievable’.”
