Mississippi Casino Site Waiting on Approval
By Joni Hawk, Jul 7th 2006West D'Iberville Development LLC hopes to receive the approval for a site from The Mississippi Gaming Commission during a called miting. The casino in D'Iberville requested approval of a site that is west of I-10 bridges and on the Back Bay of Biloxi.
Richard Rose, D'Iberville city manager, said the city would welcome a casino on the Back Bay and the executive director of the Gaming Commission, Mr. Larry Gregory declared that he is recommending the approval of the site.
Residents, planners and others who met in design charrettes to brainstorm about rebuilding the Mississippi Gulf Coast expressed support for putting casinos in mixed-use developments along the water front in D'Iberville.
