New casinos in Japan
By Joni Hawk, Apr 26th 2007The world's top casino operators are looking for new areas to built classy casinos. Japan is one of them, now that it is removing its strict gambling laws to attract rich Asian tourists and boost its economy.
It would be a latecomer to the gambling boom across the region. The Japanese intend to catch the attention with two domes in Singapore to take on the Chinese enclave of Macau.
Lawmakers from Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) already came with plans to allow building casinos which could be ready to lodge customers in a few years. Additionally, the lawmakers support the general idea of legalizing casinos.
Other states expected to relax their gaming laws are Taiwan and Thailand.
