Packer's Third Macau Casino Project

By Lyndon Evans, Oct 9th 2007

According to a new report made by analysts from Melco PBL Entertainment in Macau the new casino Trinity is estimated to cost no less than $US675 million ($767 million). James Packer's third Macau casino is planned to open in late 2010 and is anticipated to appeal to day-tourists arriving at the Macau ferryboat terminal or at border points from China.

The Trinity casino project of Mr Packer's PBL and its joint venture partner Melco would be a two towers establishment. One of the towers will be designed for serviced apartments. The second tower will have a hotel and a casino with 215 casino game tables and 500 poker machines.

From its three projects, Trinity is the smaller one and the $US1.85 billion City of Dreams the largest one. City of Dreams is its second project for a casino and is planned to have 450 casino game tables, 2500 poker machines and 3 hotels with 1600 rooms. Its first project was the $US584 million Crown Macau which opened earlier this year. This casino has 222 casino game tables, 550 poker machines and 216 hotel rooms.
