Playtech Platform Offers Excellent Gaming Experience

Shuki Barak, the CFO of the Playtech Company, which is one of the leading online gambling and software providers is one of the persons who seen the online gambling industry turn around.

In his 18 months of close internet gambling implication he saw the Playtech platform going public and performing strong on the AIM and in the gambling market itself. But, he also witnessed the consequences of the US Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act on Playtech casinos.

A year after the US ban passed, Barak is able to report only a minor drop in revenue of 5% on the Playtech platform.. However, this is assuredly a dramatic turnaround compared to the last two years that had 44 million pounds revenue, which is now considered a success in the new global market.

But the minor drop in revenue also remained minor because the CFO managed to expand to other countries, offering new games to go along with its poker products in the best gaming experience. Also, the company went global and developed mobile gaming as a new niche.

While in the past the US represented more than half of Playtech casino player market, the company’s revenue now splits in: 52% from Europe and 34% from Asia-Pacific. While in the past, poker accounted a third of the company's games selection, the Playtech platform expanded to other popular games for Europe, such as Bingo and for Asia, such as Pachinko and Mahjongh.

And the future of the company looks promising, expecting new developments in the Far East as well due to business agreements made with gambling platforms in India and the Philippines and acquiring the services of Chinese investment groups.

Barak’s contract with Playtech began in February 2006 and these days will get to an end but the successor is yet unknown. One thing is certain though. The future CFO will inherit an industry that is on its feet again, with favorable odds to succeed.
