Questioning the Turkish gambling market
By Daniel Michaels, Mar 19th 2007Because of a rule passed by the Turkish government on 28 February 2007, BWIN has decided to momentarily remove its variety of online gaming products from Turkish gambling market.
However, even if the new law bans online games of luck, it also offers the alternative of acquiring a license at a later date. BWIN produces approximately 6% of its gaming income in Turkey.
The corporation is certain that it will be capable of presenting licensed online gaming products in Turkey once more in the future. This presupposes that the government will have to implement the opportunity of questioning licenses for internet games of chance as granted by the present law.
