Rank Group criticizes UK budget
By Daniel Michaels, Apr 13th 2007Regarding Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown's budget, Rank Group PLC announced that the gaming duty changes will affect the profits at its casinos, raising casino gaming taxes for the group by 8 mln stg per annum. Rank contested the amendments to casino gaming taxes in the budget, adding that it is bordering on the illegal. There were announced without any consultation with the industry.
