Republicans Plan Fundraiser For Indian Tribes

The Republicans announced a fundraiser in order to increase donations from Indian tribes. And this in spite of the scandal involving Jack Abramoff and tribal gambling money that helped Democrats to win the majority last year and still seeks to trap other GOP lawmakers.

Tom Cole, Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), mentioned that tribes usually donated a lot of money to Democrats and he hopes to change the contributing habits of Indians. He believes that Native Americans should be involved in politics and considers that it’s a duty for him to carry forward the idea.

It is known the fact that Cole has had a long history of collaboration with the Indian gambling community, which has donated heavily to his personal campaigns in the past.
