Revising table gambling regulations
By Daniel Michaels, Mar 7th 2007The West Virginia Senate recently legalized table gambling and authorized the activity by a 20 to 13 election.
The new law, the House Bill 2718, will return to the House, where members have to come to a decision whether to grant the modifications made by the state Senate.
In the past, 6 % of the racetrack profits from table gambling was meant for the State Racetrack Table Games Fund.
The Senate reduced this percent to 2 %, and redirected 4 % of this capital to states and local cities.
Ultimately, Gov. Joe Manchin will have to sign the consequential bill.
