Smoking Ban didn’t affect Stanley Leisure’s business

Scotsman reports today: “Brittan’s biggest casino operator, Stanley Leisure, declared that the smoking ban did not affect the business in Scotland.

“The company declared a near doubling in annual profit, so the smoking ban introduced in Martch had no material effect what so ever on our 4 casinos in Scotland”

“In Edinburgh the operator has 3 of its 41 casinos including the famous Cascades in Leith , and it made a pre-profit of 31,9 million pounds this year till Aprill 30, that means a rise of 97 per cent on the previous year on incomes that were 2 per cent higher at 224,8 millions”

“The company declared that at the beginning of the year had been hit by the double whammy of a number of big wins in London casinos unleash by the perfect evolution of Italy during the world cup, which had affected its international betting unit.”

“The CEO Bob Wiper said that the profits are ‘satisfactory’ in a very important business year”
