Testing for Online Gambling Sites Presented by eCOGRA
By Arthur Levine, May 22nd 2007eCommerce and Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) has presented its "game fairness testing" for online gambling websites to increase the players' confidence in the online gaming industry and in the online gambling operators.
A team has been appointed by eCOGRA to analyze and monitor the online gambling data, which is part of its TGTR (Total Gaming Transaction Review), to ensure that the online games are independent, random, and fair.
This verification is available to all the online gambling site operators who want to differentiate and validate their game offerings by testing them according to different criteria. Some of these criteria are: monthly payout percentage reports for all their games, bi-annual RNG (Random Number Generator) reports, poker card shuffling reviews and reports, all available in 14 different languages.
An online gambling site operator must have its online gambling software (Microgaming, RTG, Playtech, Cryptologic) reviewed by eCOGRA if they want to use eCOGRA’s service. Andrew Beveridge, eCOGRA CEO, said that they want to make sure that the games are fair before they monitor their performance. He also said that their service can provide updates for the sites every month or better.
