The Debate over Online Casinos

By George Oates, Nov 14th 2006
Even though the US Congress has passed a bill not so long ago, a bill that put a ban on online casino sites and online gaming, such a bill does not have that many chances of winning the US Senate vote. The Senators are going to be taking a month off and they will divert their attention to other legislative matters. And, after Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist, the new online casino bill did not enter the top priorities of the Senate.

"Our main concern should be to clarify the law in the opposite direction. Mainly the legalization of Internet gambling and regulating the industry similar to what Britain has done. And this is a very efficient method to increase protections against gambling by minors, to identify the problem gamblers," declared Arizona Republican, Senator Jon Kyl.

There are important persons on each side of the barricade that are part of the US Congress, so the future of online casino sites and operators within the US is still unclear. Due to the fact that online casino sites are becoming such a popular entertainment venue, and because online gambling as a whole is growing rapidly all around the world and drawing in more and more gambling fans, the US fans will most likely keep on making bets oversees at numerous online casino sites available.

All this is sure to increase the profits at the online casino affiliate programs industry. And how the US Congress will decide in the end remains to be seen, but it is certain, that the final decision is a long way ahead.
