The Owner of a Security Company was Charged with Bribery
By George Oates, Mar 23rd 2006In Ontario, according to the Detroit Free Press: "The proprietor of a Saginaw security corporation has been accused in federal court for paying a $100,000 bribe to a Casino Windsor official to get a $2.6-million security contract."
"U.S. and Canadian forces, are also trying to find out if Brian Joseph Berg, the owner of the company, APS, if after he made the bribe, he continued to bribe some officials, in order to obtain other such contracts in Ontario."
"Investigators also were tipped that Berg paid $5,000 to an official at the Victories Casino in Petoskey in order to obtain information and to be able to underbid competitors there and that he paid a $60,000 bribe to an official at the New Jersey Transit Authority to get hold of a security contract for the Secaucus Train Station."
"The grievance charges Berg with wire fraud and conspiring to defraud Casino Windsor of its right to honest services as it has bribed one or more of its employees. The charges carry an utmost penalty of 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine"
