Tory leader David Cameron against super casino project
By Andrea Klein, Apr 27th 2007Tory leader David Cameron has ordered Conservative MPs to combat plans to build Britain's first super casino planned in Manchester. A spokesman for Mr. Cameron told culture secretary Tessa Jowell that the Tories intend to oppose the all-or-nothing deal, which if crushed, would mean the whole casino package is thrown out. It will mean that Mr Cameron will in fact override shadow chancellor George Osborne, who was reported to have counseled Tory colleagues to support Manchester's proposal.
