Trinidad And Tobago Casinos May Be Shut Down
By Elizabeth Scott, Sep 7th 2007Trinidad and Tobago casinos face closure and local casino workers believe that their overseas colleagues are to blame for bringing the industry back into the Government's spotlight.
The president of the Association of Members Clubs of Trinidad and Tobago said that the influx of foreigners entering the industry started the Trinidad Tobago gambling ‘alarm’ for illegal and immoral activities in local casinos and clubs.
Mr. Brian Phillip also added that local casino owners agreed to the Tobago gambling and Trinidad gambling regulation so that the relevant authorities could monitor tax returns and money transfers in their midst. However, for their own reasons, many foreigners oppose the regulation of casinos in Trinidad and Tobago.
