Trump era could end

By Arthur Levine, Jul 11th 2007
Donald Trump's businesses in Atlantic City might be over, as his gambling halls are having problems and his casino company might be bought. Trump Entertainment Resorts which are negotiating the sale of his company said that a sale could be announced this week.

Trump said that he will continue to try his luck in Atlantic City even if he will sell this casino. It won’t be an easy job, not even for Trump because hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent on the casinos and the competition is very harsh.

Trump needs lots of money if he wants to be successful. He hopes that the new owner will keep his name or logo on the casino and that he will have a role in the casino, even if just to appear once in a while.

2005 was a hard period for Trump, as his CEO title was stripped off from him. He reduced his stake in the casino company from 52% to 31%. Trump is still the chairman of the casino even if he isn’t involved in the day-to-day operations of the casino.

This can also cause trouble for his other projects, such as the famous Trump Tower.
