UAW may represent the Atlantic City workers
By Arthur Levine, Apr 27th 2007The UAW (United Auto Workers) is in a fight to represent the workers in Atlantic City, not in Niagara Falls. The base of the UAW is in Cheektowaga. Two elections to represent the New Jersey casino workers have been won by the UAW, which is a major accomplishment.
After the Trump Plaza's Hotel and Casino dealers voted on March 31, 324 sustained with the UAW, and 149 were against. On March 17, the dealers of Caesars Atlantic City casino voted, but here 572 voted for unionization and while 128 voted against it.
Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. requested to the National Labor Relations Board to block the results of the vote at Trump Plaza.
