What does a typical bingo player look like? Let’s describe the classic bingo player.
Tuesday or Wednesday was bingo night. The cars were light blue, today they are a mix of marks erased by the time. Close your eyes and imagine how a car door opens and how smoke fills the air outside the bingo hall. The bingo player smokes cigarettes with the car window up. Who is the player? It is a woman. It’s well/known that women love to play bingo. The cigarette looks like a long white extension of her mouth and her appearance is wrapped by the diffuse lights and shadows. She probably smokes Benson & Hedges or Virginia Slim cigarettes. Moreover, for bingo night, she is used to having an extra pack.
Likely, she’s older than 50. When she moves to get her lucky bingo doodle pen from her little bag let you see the strange blue nuance of her hair, almost the same color as the machines, and other few pink curls she forgot to take out. You know that she always asks for seven bingo cards. Even if she can get eight bingo cards for $5, she prefers to take seven cards for $7. At the table she smokes, spreads, covers her bingo cards and observes the other people. She is single, harsh and all she has is bingo night. This description is in fact a stereotype, but an old stereotype of a game that will never go away.
Now let’s speak about the real bingo player. Today there are so many ways to play bingo that is hard enough to categorize the players. The analyses of the audience have shown that bingo attracts older and young people too. It seems that a percent of 30% bingo players are under the age of 35. But this happened due to internet bingo that is more accessible for them.
What does the regular Internet bingo player look like? Not surprisingly, the online bingo player is still female. There are over 2.5 million females who play bingo often and that include all forms of bingo. But the online bingo player is probably young and is around 25 years. She is blond, brunette or auburn and has long hair that flows over the keyboard. She smiles at the humorous remarks coming from bingo room chat rooms and at the same time she is tossing her hair sending it over her shoulder. Dressed with a t-shirt and blue jeans she plays comfortable from her own room. During the game, maybe she is thinking about something nice to write to the opposite player. With whom is she playing bingo? Yes we're pretty sure it's a younger woman. But this time, you could expect that the woman wears only a bathing suit because she just come in from the swimming pool. Her skin is bronze, her bathing suit so tiny and her bingo cards fill up the screen. What are the young males waiting for?
Day by day the online bingo changes the profile of the player. The portrait becomes more dynamic and youthful. And the numbers of bingo players are continuously increasing because the jackpots are much larger than in bingo halls. So, girls and boys let’s play bingo!
